Oh Mumbai, here I come!

Oh Mumbai, here I come!
After a separation too long,
In my heart, there’s a song.

I live in a place, so much more clean,
Surrounded by rolling, pastures of green
I breathe in air, so much more pure,
I look at a sky, so very clear.

I hear the birds, singing in the trees,
The flowers in my garden hum with the bees
The morning brings a golden sun,
The evenings on the shore are so much fun.

But within my heart, there’s an Ache,
As each night, I lie awake.
I miss your Rush, I miss your Flow.
Life, for me, is ever so Slow.

I long to see, your buildings so tall,
And walk the paths, where vendors call.
To millions, you give, hope and home,
Fame and Name and Glory to some

You have a side, full of poverty and grime
A history, full of blood and slime
You survive a thousand attacks,
Of earthquakes and flood and terror and crime

There is a core of strength within,
That helps you, to fight back and Win!
To survive, to revive, to rebuild, to Shine,
To scale new heights, of glorious Divine!

Wherever I go, to you I belong,
Your determination and grit, I take along
I pray for you to be safe and sound,
To hear your name, makes me feel Proud!

Where my heart belongs, that is my home,
Oh Mumbai, here I come.

Oh Mumbai, here I come!
